After moving to Las Vegas in 2018, Mr. Kustra began his legal career at one of Nevada’s largest insurance defense firms where his practice focused on commercial litigation and transportation law. However, his passion to assist individuals and companies with their corporate and transactional needs led him to join Reisman Sorokac in February 2019.
Mr. Kustra attended college at the University of Manitoba, earning a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree with a double major in Finance and Accounting. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law where he graduated fourth in his class, magna cum laude, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
During law school, Mr. Kustra held many leadership roles, including, among others, serving on both the North Dakota Law Review Board of Editors and the University of North Dakota’s Moot Court Board. He competed in three national Moot Court competitions, a national trial competition, and was elected to the Order of the Barristers for his excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing skills.
Mr. Kustra also had the privilege of being a judicial extern to the Honorable Ralph R. Erickson (now Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals) and the Honorable Alice R. Senechal in the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Prior to law school, Mr. Kustra was a journeyman bricklayer who owned and operated a commercial bricklaying company.
